ExperienceIn the past, I attended MIT and am now a student and instructor going after my PhD at the University of Maryland. For 15 years, I have worked with students ranging from kindergarten to college students. I have tutored in different roles, as a private tutor, group tutor, and test prep tutor, as well as being a teaching assistant. My areas of expertise fall under the subjects of Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, Statistics, and Trigonometry. I also tutor subjects in English such as College Essays, Essay Editing, Reading, Verbal. Other areas of interest include Psychology, Study Skills, Organization, and Social Sciences. My method is to discern each student's learning style and to then break down the material and teach it as individual concepts so it seems less intimidating to the student. I am very empathetic to students who struggle to understand concepts, therefore, I try to relieve their anxiety by making it less stressful. I strive to create an environment where the student feels free to ask questions, admit they don't know something, and never worry about looking bad by seeking out knowledge. Outside of my general tutoring interests, I enjoy reading, watching movies, being outside, and having fun laughing.
HobbiesReading, watching movies, doing almost anything outside in good weather, and laughing :-)
